What are your thoughts on Telfer's ideas on hospitableness?
According to Telfer's definition of hospitality and hospitableness.
She define hospitability as involving to provide of food, drink and
lodging for that person who is not a member of hotel or household. Similarly, word hospitableness as a quality of friendly and welcoming. Telfers suggest that authentic hospitability is suggested by host with appropriate motives.
According to my opinion, in this global different peoples have
different cultures and they welcoming and treat guests on their own style
and the communication between host and guest should be more friendly
and effective.
2. What are some ways that you can adequately prepare for a career in hospitability?
There are some ways that I can adequately prepare for a career in hospitability. Hospitality is distinctive business activity and has a critical role in global economy leading to create percentage of jobs worldwide. And also, it performs major role in satisfying guest requirement in one or the other way. Looking at the fast-growing hospitality industry, it is necessary to have a strong base in education and work experience. There is a scope of continuous growth and learning through practical experience depending on capabilities too. It is my ambition to work as a key player in challenging and creative environment, to be instrumental in organization’s growth, to realize my potential and explore myself in productive manner and thus prove myself to be an asset for an industry. With a big range of variety and flexibility.
3. What does it mean to be a professional in hospitability industry?
Professionalism is observed through confident behavior but it is complicated concept with no fixed definition. As a term it can be used at all level in this industry from high level to low level. For instance, the professional chef, the professional server, the professional manager. the person who work in this industry who can create strong relationship with their customers is known as professional hospitality.
