"Work Is A Theatre Every Business Is A Stage". Mr Pine has discussed briefly about the difference between authenticity, acting & pretending in the given podcast. As per Mr pine when he is using the phrase "work is a theatre every business is a stage" this refers to an organisation where professionals can perform their duties in a distinctive & influencing manner as per the allocation. Though it is acting, it depends on professional how they execute their given task. He has spoken about fish market in Seoul where fisherman sells their salmons in a distinctive manner were they through salmon & other person raps that for him. By this he wants to explain they are staging a experience for people to buy fish they are acting but at the end of the day, they are selling fish and going back home with the smell of a fish in their clothes. Likewise, "work is a thetre " it refers to an organisation the brand of a company," every business is a stage" this illustrates the actual work floor where employees perform their respective duties it includes authenticity, acting & pretending to do justice with the organisation as far as their self-development & organisation growth is concerned .

"Work is theatre and every business a stage."

This quote from Pine and Gilmore (1998) metaphorically articulates what the Experience Economy is all about. If we are to do business in this emerging market, we need to go beyond providing products or services. We should treat our business as a stage where we create experiences for our guests. This guest experience should be unique, authentic and memorable as this will now serve as the company's competitive advantage. With this, they can also attract loyalty, and in effect, gain revenue.

"Work is theatre and every business a stage" it means the podcast is talking about the experiences for the customers. It shows that each individual has play a key role in creating a memorable experiences, as a staff acting as an entertainer whereas the guests or customers are our spectators and business is a stage. So the hospitality industry should create an eventful memory for each guests or customers, acknowledge the character which the guests expected to receive, from which the guests would enjoy the occasion.

In a competitive market, creating a difference in customers is not only a necessary condition but also a must to develop a successful economy for the business. Therefore, working in a business is compared to performing a play in the theater. Specifically, in the hospitality industry, employees should provide a unique service and create a memorable guest experience as showing an unforgettable stage for the audience. The more impressive the performance, the more successful the business. That is the reason why the staffs have to serve the customers with good attitude and provide the most relevant services for different kinds of guests as well.

On viewing this podcast, the most focusing thing is that we should engage with our guest and must give them a memorable experience which indirectly helps in a repetitive business. Pine and Gilmore’s statement “Work is a theatre and every business is a stage” depicts us (hoteliers) as a staff acting as an actor whereas the guests are our audiences and this property is a business a stage. In addition, this conversation is based on adapting nature of guests which varies from one to another so according to their needs and requirements or we should put some extra efforts from ourselves to make their stay or presence memorable which considered as a most important thing in this hospitality industry. Every property train their staff on how to create a unique and memorable experience, how to deal with the guest and ready to assist them all time with a smile.

“Work is theatre and every business a stage” in this podcast" this sentence in this podcast is explained that every employee and employer play a vital role in the hospitality industry which means the way they behave and their attitude could have an effect on customers. hotels should be more focus on creating distinctive and memorable experiences instead of paying money on improving quality and amenities, it is not too bad to invest in goods but the unique experience should be the most concerned which can let customers have impressive memories and this would connect to business as well.

Hoa Cao's view: According to Mr Joseph Pine II, customers’ desire shifted into the highest level which is memorable experiences and their new sensibility is authenticity that is the key for every successful business. “Work is theatre and every business a stage” means that you need to direct your workers to act, give them the role to play, and also help them to perform on your stage to the attached audience by their own characteristics. In particularly, the audiences are your customers so if you want to earn money from them, because they will watch your all moves (the way that you treat the guests, the way that you serve them)  you have to attach them with memorable theater which needs the effort from both side workers and employees (on stage and backstage efforts). We have to know exactly what is our stage, and What is the theatre that we are going to put on there to make your business succeed
