"Work is a theater and every business a stage"
In my opinion, work is a world of actors and the establishment is where they show it all. Although not quite, in this environment, a person has to choose the character himself should show that differs among those he/she have shown his friends and families. One person has multiple faces as they say; a face that is shown to the family, a face that is shown to the friends, a face that only oneself could see, and a face that MUST be shown at work. Whatever problems or thoughts a person has, he/she has to set aside it once entered the workplace.

“Work is theatre and every business a stage.” The meaning of this sentence is important, especially in hospitality. The employee in the hospitality industry should be able to give happiness to consumers as sincere theatre when working. Most businesses require hospitality services. So work is theatre and every business a stage. It is like touching the audience with heartfelt theatre on stage. The better the actor's performance, the more valuable the stage is. Audiences also visit more the stage which has many actors who are good at the performance. That's why workers in the hospitality industry, such as Hotelier, have to work in hotels like actors who perform the best plays on stage. This can provide consumers with a special experience.

Pine and Gilmore used "the theatre" as a metaphor throughout to indicate the necessary shift in thinking required to engage customers in the experience of one’s choosing. In economy experiences research the writers focus on creating memorable and impressive experiences for customers rather than only deliver common services. Not only did the writers devote to corporate players, but they also believe every staff, from the CEO of a major to the font employees, etc have an essential role to play if the business is to thrive. Based on the theory of Pine and Gilmore (1999), it is indicated that the circle of economic operations surrounds manufacture and preparation for the market from Commodities, Goods to Services. As usual, the clients estimate high-quality services rather than standard products since services take responsible for satisfying the rest of the customers’ requirements which they do not prefer to do although they can finish them.

The Experience Economy is formed from Service Economy with an aim to create a unique experience within the service provided from the businesses to customers. Rather, a unique experience is a sufficient condition to satisfy what customers expect to have. Thus, creating an unforgettable experience is the core to make the value in business operation. According to Pine & Gilmore, in order to customize the costumers’ needs basing on their individual needs, the suppliers should consider their service as the stage, and the sensibility and roles of customers play an important part in that stage.

It means that in business, every worker needs to act as a stage performer and consider them to be in a theater where customers are their audience. They should be performing their work as a performance fully loaded with props, dance, fun, etc. so that they can facilitate their customers with the best experiences. Their performance should be entertaining as well as valuable to customers. It should be meaningful to each customer and can even have a positive change on the customers. Moreover, they need to be real irrespective of the fact that they are acting. They need to observe their customers' behavior and identify what experience they want to provide to their customers. It is like choosing what character of one to reveal according to the situation. Just like, the fishmongers at the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle and a guy at the entrance of Edna Bewick's Diner in Chicago performed their jobs.

The statement “Work is theatre and every business a stage” indicates the dramaturgical aspect in the understanding of the service experience. To be specific, the front staff can be seen as an actor while customers are audiences. Performance refers to what value is created. Additionally, back-stage and front-stage represent behind the scenes and in front of customers on the scene respectively. Pine and Gilmore employ this metaphor to stress the significance of staging memorable experiences and engaging customers. Regarding the rise of the new economy, other skills and qualities rather than delivery services are called to upgrade ordinary offerings that can potentially impress customers (Grant, 2016).

According to the podcast from B. Joseph pine II & Jamesh H. Gilmore, I think Work is theatre and every business a stage means hospitality industry should create an unforgettable memory for each customer. Reveal the attitude which the customers expected to receive. Therefore, customers would enjoy the atmosphere and the moment. The customers would receive diverse experience from different hotelier and the people who serve them because the whole experience depends on what they get from the staff. Therefore, the employee of the hospitality industry should always focus on their jobs. Not only doing the task of work but also provide a great attitude when they are working.

According to Mr. Joseph Pine II, creating memorable experience is the key to success for a business. People are driven on experiences and every customer is unique. A successful business not only customizes goods and turns it into a service but it also customizes a service and turns it into an experience. To create memorable experiences every individual has a role to play including the employer and employee while displaying the right attitude. Mr. Pine explains that creating experiences can never be nice, easy and convenient, people have to go beyond in creating these experiences. He explained this with the example of buying fish from the fish market where a unique experience was offered instead of the usual experience. Work in this example is the same for every vendor in that fish market whereas the business of providing a unique experience is the stage.

Economic progression starts from commodities to the highest level, which is experience. If business wants to be successful, they have to create true distinctive  instead of merely nice and easy experience. Poor customer experience would damage the business and it is why creating memorable experience for consumers is the backbone of the company. To be differentiated from competitors, businesses should come up with the plays, the dramas that they want to create and give employees the roles to play, help them characterize the roles because every single employee will help to create excellent customer experience on behalf of the business.

In the present context industry is the stage where customer experience plays a vital role in the economy of the organization. The economy is affected with experience of the guest. True experience is personal cause it reaches inside people. So, to create a memorable experience, the industry pretends and selects the professionals who can act real with showing the part what he/she wants to. According to Pine and Gilmore, the professionals is the man who speaks and acts on the behalf of the industry whereas listeners are the guests. Momentums are created when the real actORS can organize a proper conversation with the listeners which requires real time. The longer the time spent the more convenient it becomes for both the parties thus creating a drama in a stage.
